Hanging Around :)

So tomorrow I turn two whole months old :) My how time sure has flew! I'm beginning to notice things around me much more. I can really see things more clearly now. I love my toy gym toy and also enjoy some time in my bouncy seat and swing. As you can see by the video :) I really like the froggie and penguin that wobble on the top :) Mommy likes to sing along to music on occasion, I think she likes it too :)

To daddy's dismay I like watching the TV too. Here I am watching the Ultimate Fighter with Daddy :) He doesn't complain too loudly however when I'm quiet while doing it :) Although what mommy and daddy didn't know at the time is that I was quietly sitting there planning my next poop and it was an explosion! I got me new outfit all poop :\ And I also got another bath...hehehe...I guess I really can be a little stinker ;)

I've been REALLY sleepy recently. I've been sleeping ALOT more during the day and still sleep through the night. When I'm awake I want to nurse or be cuddled and just chill. I don't really have much energy to play as much as usual. Mommy thinks I'm going through a growth spurt. I don't know if she's right or not, but I do love the extra cuddles I've been getting :)

Mommy forgot her camera when we visited with Xavier so she will have to wait for Cristina to send her the pics she took so she can put them up here :) I had fun playing with Xavier for the few moments I was awake :) We figured I'm just as long as he is! Looks like I might be a tall girl or maybe he'll be a short boy...actually it's probably just to early to tell that kind of thing :) Cristina's mommy sent me cute dress :) I can't wait to try it on!

Alright I think thats about all I've been up to :) Oh besides packing for the weekend trip this weekend to go garage sailing with Grandma and Grandpa Dineen :)

Look at me!

I'm FINALLY okay with sleeping in the pack and play :) Mommy isn't too thrilled about having to bend over to far to get me or lay me down, but she's happy I will finally sleep somewhere else other than her lap or the couch :)

Out and About

Mommy and Daddy sure take me alot places. Sometimes I fall asleep and think I'm at home and wake up some place else! It's crazy! Here are some pictures that Dan took of Mommy and Daddy at the picnic last weekend. This was one of those times, that I feel asleep at home and woke up outside!

Here I'm seen sleeping with a bunny :) Which Mommy says is better than sleeping with the fishes :)

I'm not waking up here and finding myself in a strange place....although once I DID fall asleep in the bathtub :) I couldn't help it...it was SO relaxing :) But now I LOVE my bathes! Well i always loved them, but no way am I going to fall asleep! I mean there is just way to much kicking to do :) Plus Mommy likes to sing to me...and that REALLY keeps me awake!

Mommy realized that part of the reason I don't like my pack and play is because it moves really easily when it's in the bassinet position. So she took that way today. We are going to try it out this week to see if I will nap in it. I need to learn to sleep there so when we go to visit the grandparents in November I have a place to sleep!

This past Saturday Mommy, Daddy and Xavier's Daddy went on a hike in the woods. Mommy made this cool poncho for the two of us to wear :) Daddy thinks it's dumb and ugly, but it sure kept us nice and warm :)

Thats all the pictures I have for right now. We also went to a shoe store today so mommy and daddy have new shoes for all the coming trips we will be going on :) And tomorrow I'm told I'm going to go play with Xavier :)

Baby Development 8 Weeks

Into complex designs

At this point, your baby will begin to move beyond his early preferences for bright or two-toned objects toward more detailed and complicated designs, colors, and shapes. Show your baby — and let him touch — a wider variety of objects. Good choices include plastic cookie cutters, soft balls, and stuffed animals.

Hear ye, hear ye

Your baby can differentiate familiar voices from other sounds and is becoming a better listener. He also can show you that he's in tune with his environment. Notice how he looks to see where certain noises are coming from.

An ongoing conversation (although still one-sided!) can help your baby develop his sense of place. He may even watch your mouth as you talk, fascinated by how it all works.

Note: If you have any doubt about your baby's hearing, don't hesitate to mention your concerns to your healthcare provider. Even though your baby's hearing may have already been tested, new problems can arise.

A helping hand

The chaotic first months are over and your baby's schedule is probably becoming more predictable. If you and your partner are raising your baby, it's important for both of you to get a chance to care for and bond with your baby. Make sure whichever one of you is not the primary caretaker gets regular time alone with your little one, for bathing him, changing him, and just getting tuned into his needs.

Remember, your baby is an individual

All babies are unique and meet milestones at their own pace. Developmental guidelines simply show what your baby has the potential to accomplish — if not right now, then soon. If your baby was premature, keep in mind that kids born early usually need a bit more time to meet their milestones. If you have any questions at all about your baby's development, ask your healthcare provider.

Videos

Here's some videos since I haven't put any up in awhile :)

Tummy Time!!

Bath Time!

Poking Herself in the Eye :\

How bad of a mother am I that I thought this video was funny...and she doesn't do this often, which makes it funnier that she did it for the camera...I guess she needs to work on that hand/eye coordination a little more :) hehehehehe

Dress Up

So it's no secret that mommy had ALOT of clothes bought and ready for me before I even got here. So it's only natural that I end up in ALOT of different outfits right :) Or that sometimes we even have try them on days? hehehe Here is just a few from the last few days...I'm a good sport about it, what woman doesn't like clothes? And lets face it they all make me look cute :)

Err... What did you say Mommy?
You made this coat for me and you want me to do what?

Oh yeah SMILE!

Okay please someone tell mommy this hat makes me look like a dork. I know she made it and all, but seriously? NO

Mommy says you can move a girl out of the country
but you can't take the country out of the girl :)

Mommy was so excited when she found this in the drawer. Everything else seems to say how much I love Daddy or Daddy's girl...this one is just for mommy :)

So with the trip to see Uncle Travis getting closer Mommy bought some new clothes that were nice and warm for me since it's colder where he is than here...but she bought them for 3-6 months and wanted to make sure they would fit me okay and not be TOO big :) So we tried on lots of different outfits today :)

This one will fit me perfect! It is just a touch too big right now...so since I will be another 4 weeks older it will probably be just the right size :)

This one is a little too big, and might still be a
little too big, but not so big it won't work :)
Plus it's all made of fleece so it will be super warm for the days we will be outside :)

This one is definitely an inside outfit. It's a dress (which mommy said we need to buy tights for) but it's also a little bit thin. It will be good for the days we do inside things or hang out at Uncles Travis's

This outfit just won't work. It's made of like blouse material so it's not stretchy and it's almost too small now! So I don't think I will be able to wear it much longer.
But look at me being a good sport :)

This is the outfit I finally decided that I wanted to wear today. I had enough of all these different clothes going over my head and messing up my hair! Plus I think it's pretty :)

You know mommy went and bought all these clothes but really this is my favorite outfit of them all!

Happy Birthday Nan!

Wishing you a happy 83rd Birthday Nan!
From all of us
Jason, Tiffanie, Emilie, Kaitlin, Nybbles and Terabyte :)

All In a Day

Here are a few things that I've been doing the past few days....

Yesterday I went to a picnic put on by one of Daddy's friends. I slept through most of it...and then got cranky later since I wanted to sleep and all the voices kept me awake...

I usually start the day with me sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's bed. Mommy finds it's the only way she can get a few extra hours of sleep and I love it :) It's a pretty big bed for me being so tiny...but it sure is comfy!!

Mommy tries to make sure I get some belly time everyday, but most of the time it doesn't happen daily. Sometimes i love it and other times I hate it, I guess it all depends on my mood...

I also take a bath most days. Yesterday was a a whole new kind of bath though...mommy took me into the shower with her. She was all stinky from our walk yesterday and wanted to cool off...so she took me in with her. I didn't mind it at all! I even sat quietly in my bouncy seat all wrapped up so she could wash her hair :)

This last picture is from our walk. Sometimes we go outside for a bit for a short walk...today mommy put me in my sun hat since it was sunny out there. I stayed awake for part of the walk but before I knew it I was drifting off to sleep while mommy climbed Boswell Hill with me strapped to her... :)

50 Days of Emilie ;)

When I was born mommy started a project where she took a picture of me everyday for the first 100 days I was here. It has made for alot of flashes going off in my face, but I don't care too much about it ;) Here is a picture collage of the first 50 days (which was friday). The pictures aren't in any kind of order. But the last picture in the bottom right corner is my 50th one :) It just happened that way :)

Baby Development 7 Weeks

Your 7-Week-Old Baby: Super Baby Senses

At seven weeks, your baby is delighting in new sights, sounds and touches. Here's what else your newborn is up to.

Do you learn something new every day? Your 7-week-old baby does — and then some! Around the seven-week mark, she's awake and alert more often during the day, so pencil her in for more playtime. Best ways to stimulate those senses? Provide plenty of opportunities for her to experience her surroundings through sound, sight, and touch. Small doses are best (if she's fussing or squirming, she's had enough), and simple toys are all you need. For example, now that she can track moving objects with her eyes, try slowly shifting a ball, rattle, or cloth from one side to the other as she faces you. Watch as she plays along by moving her eyes back and forth (tennis, anyone?).

Her baby blues (or browns) are becoming more discriminating these days, too. While she could once make out only bright colors and basic, two-toned patterns, she's now beginning to discern — and delight in! — more complex designs and a whole rainbow of colors. Now's the time to break out some vibrantly hued board books or give her a narrated tour of your fascinating backyard. Not only does she love the sound of your words (after all, she's been hearing them since well before she was born!), she's starting to be able to put your face to your voice, and those of other familiar folks like Daddy or Grandma. While it may not seem like it, she's listening carefully and may soon try to respond with some sounds of her own. Encourage her by chatting and cooing along in a conversational pattern. (No, you won't sound silly — you'll sound like a mom or dad!)

Lots to Update About

Mommy and I have been house bound since daddy's car isn't working the greatest. But thats alright we still get ourselves into trouble :) Mommy and I took a bath together yesterday. It was so much fun! I loved it. Well up until the water went in my nose :\ But I liked being in the water and I think I might like the pool when we go see Uncle Travis :) Mommy can't wait to dip my toes in it, she talks about it all the time to me.

I spend alot of time on Mommy's lap. I like to fall asleep there and then wake up when she tries to move me :) I'm such a little stinker like that :) Mommy was concerned that I hadn't pooped in a few days but I surprised her with a big one when she tried to move me to the pack in play yesterday. I filled my diaper right up! She was happy, imagine that happy that I pooped! Silly Mommy!

The other day Daddy had a friend over from work to help them on a project. I didn't want to be in the living room with them. I fussed and fussed and as soon as mommy brought me to the bedroom I was quiet and happy :) So she took advantage of me and dressed me in my blue dress and took lots of pictures of me :)

And look I got to meet Joshalynn! Right now she's about the same size as I am, but I can't wait until I'm bigger and play with her :) She looks like a lot of fun :)

Oh and today I pet a kitty :) Mommy saw that Terra was sleeping on the bed like usual and brought me over to her. Terra just looked at me and then sniffed my nose. So then Mommy took my hand and rubbed it on Terra's back. She sniffed me again but seemed to like it a little bit. She was so soft :)

Pics of Mommy, Daddy and Me!

Mommy takes SO many pictures of me...today she tried getting one of her and I. It was kind of annoying since she took like 100 pics! She just wasn't happy with really any of them. I guess she sort of liked this one. Although I liked another one MUCH better.

Daddy was sleeping on the job again! Mommy caught him on film ;) hehehe no really he was just being silly. He doesn't like his picture being taken so he likes to shut his eyes for some reason. Although I bet he was a little tired.

Ode to the Paci!

Oh how mommy loves thee
Oh how daddy admires me
Oh how I want thee more often that I get!
Oh how that's going to change starting today :)

Hehehe. So mommy is learning that sometimes I just want to suck on my paci and not eat. Which means I'm getting more of what I want, I'm less frustrated and so is she :) :) Like right now I'm chilling in my favorite chair so mommy can clean some and drink her coffee.

September 13, 2009

Sunday Sunday :)

Today we went for another hike up at Oakly Corners. Mommy carried me in my carrier while daddy and tom road their bikes. We walked really fast! Mommy almost walked as fast as the boys biked! I woke up for a little bit of it...I got to see the trees and hear some birds, but then it was all so peaceful I just went right back to sleep :)

After the hike we came home and mommy went grocery shopping without me. She left me ALONE with Daddy and Tom...which was a little scary at first but then daddy put the penguin in charge and I went right to sleep ;)

Happy Grandparents Day!

to all my grandparents out there ... great and not to so great ;)

September 12, 2009

Mommy's New Hairdo :)

Mommy decided it was time for a new do...so we went to the mall today :) Daddy and I went for a walk while mommy was getting her hair cut...well what do you think?

This morning daddy gave me another bath :) But this time mommy picked the clothes :)

Oh and here I am this morning after giving mommy and daddy a hard time last night...aren't I cute?

Nothing much to report on today other than the trip to the mall and mommy's new cut. Oh we did go to Babies R Us to get a pacifier holder. Mommy picked out the penguin one because of daddy, I'm going to look like such a boy :\ But I don't really care, I just want the pacifier! And they got me two new outfits since they have a gift card to spend :) Guess what...I have ANOTHER outfit with a penguin on it now :) hehehe daddy is determined to make me like them yet!!

Baby Development 6 Weeks

Your 6-Week-Old Baby: Learning to Grab

At six weeks, your baby's getting a firm grasp on life. Here's what else your newborn is up to.
While his hands were once curled into tiny (and preciously pudgy) little fists, these days your 6-week-old baby is beginning to stretch out his fingers and test what they can do. At around six weeks, your baby is likely to find his fingers endlessly fascinating, and may spend a good chunk of time simply gazing at those magical appendages. (Hey, are these mine?) Or he might realize that sucking on a thumb (or a pinky or a pointer) is soothing — maybe even soothing enough to help him drift off to dreamland. If your little one turns out to be a thumb sucker, celebrate the fact that he's found a way to comfort himself on his own. (And pay no mind to busybodies who say it isn't good for him — at this age, it's perfectly fine.)

Also on your baby's handy agenda: getting a grip. Try putting something (like your finger or the handle of a rattle) in his palm and chances are he'll hold on — and keep on holding! He may even reach for an enticing object and try to bat at it or snatch it for his own. You can thank his ever-sharpening vision for this breakthrough — he can see better now so he's ready to try coordinating his eyes and his hands. Sure, he's got a ways to go before he smacks a ball out of the park, but when it comes to hand-eye skills, practice makes perfect (and his attempts are really cute, besides).

How can you give your little one a leg up on using his hands? For one thing, make sure he logs daily tummy time so he can get a little workout for those hands — and the arms they're attached to. (Remember: Back to sleep, tummy to play — while baby needs to be belly-down to build strength and motor skills, it's not a safe position for sleeping.) He'll likely keep his elbows tucked in now, and just lift his head enough to see the dust bunnies under the couch, but soon he'll be pushing up higher and higher until his arms are straight and he can look out into the wondrous world well beyond his blanket.

Look at me SMILE!

Mommy doesn't like to talk on camera but I don't think she could resist when I flashed her such a big smile :) She still smiles every time she watches this clip. Silly mommy.

I love watching the bears dance in my mobile :) Daddy made them dance last night for me. Mommy just makes them go in a circle, but I still like that too.

Today I didn't drive mommy crazy :) Or atleast that is what she says. Her and I slept a little longer in bed after daddy brought me back into the bedroom this morning. I didn't think mommy liked to sleep on her back, but I guess she must have been super tired. I laid on her chest using her boobie as a pillow :) They were SUPER comfy, I slept for a whole other hour like that. I was so comfy it took me awhile to notice that mommy snuck out of the room and made herself some coffee.

Mommy and I did alot on the computer today. Mommy's new weightloss challenge has started and there was alot to do to get ready for it. Plus she had lots of pictures to go through and she's trying to find a new hair do. She's looking for one that is easier to have with me around, a wash and go kind of style.

I took a nice long afternoon nap so mommy could get some exercise in and eat lunch. She liked that :) Today I did some time on my belly, but I don't like that too much. I do love to sleep on my belly though. I also played in my toy gym, in the crib and looked at the new black and white pictures mommy hung by my changing table :)

Now i'm waiting for daddy to come home. We need to go to Walmart and then mommy and daddy are going to go out to eat. Daddy doesn't want to each quiche for dinner so he's not arguing :) But daddy is being kind of silly. Even I know if mommy doesn't make it tonight she will cook it for tomorrow night ;)

Oh and mommy tried to fix my pack n play so I would like it. She put a cushion in there that she made out of some foam. We will see if I like it more now or not. I did nap in it this afternoon, but I'm still undecided.

Smilies

So I've learning how to smile :) Sometimes I really do a good job and mommy and daddy get excited :) They talk silly to me and make silly faces to try to get me to do it, they are so funny. I also love to talk to my toys :) Why don't they talk back?

A few days ago I gave mommy and daddy a little scare. I wasn't feeling very good and even had a temp of 99. Mommy had daddy call the hospital to see what to do. But I was alright, just not happy. Yesterday I wanted mommy only most of the day, lets face it she's got what I want, boobies! ;) It seemed like I was HUNGRY all day long! I just couldn't fill up!

I slept like a good little girl last night :) Although mommy didn't get alot of sleep since I didn't eat enough at my first feeding and she had to go pump afterwards. Then she had trouble getting back to sleep :\

Today I might be clingy again...right now I'm sleeping in the glider on my nursing pillow. I don't think I like my pack and play very much. Although mommy isn't sure why :\ Here I am just before I started falling asleep and mommy covered me up. She's hoping I stay sleeping for a little while so she can get some housework and computer time in :)

Another video for your viewing pleasure ;)

Look who gave me a bath :)

DADDY!!

It's the first time he's tried it :) Mommy kind of made him :) She even promised not to say a word on what he was doing :) I think she did a pretty good job at shutting up :)

He even got to dress me with out mommy saying anything. Daddy put me in whatever he wanted me to wear ;) So for any of you who really know my daddy it's not weird that he picked this for me in September :)

We think we will let him do it again sometime ;) He did a pretty good job :) He just forgot to wash my face and he doesn't sing to me like mommy does either, but I didn't mind too much ;)
