HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

So a year ago today I popped into the world.

I've grown from being a mere 8ish pounds to now 20ish pounds.

I started out barely being able to hold my head up for seconds at a time, to crawling everywhere, climbing where I can and walking along as long as i'm holding something. I have taken a few steps, but I've stopped doing that for now.

I started a year ago only drinking mommy's milk or formula, and now just for dinner alone last night I had a meat stick, Italian pasta salad, and baked beans. I drink 2% milk, juice and water. I love really anything food although I wasn't to fond of ketchup when mommy offered a few weeks ago. The only thing I haven't been allowed to eat yet is peanut butter (the food not the bunny) and honey.

I came out not saying much, crying is all I really knew with maybe a few coos on occasion. Now I babble and cry daily. I like to wave and say something that is sort of in a round about way 'bye-bye". I know the words mamamam and dadadada, but i don't seem to get who's who yet. I know "that" cause i say it all the time while pointing. I understand when mommy says "Do you want a drink?" since I usually start whining ALOT more if I do! And I do know what "no" means but I choose to not remember quite often.

Daddy have graduated me from a being much like a potted plant. I almost drink entirely from just a sippy cup and have started even using a real cup. Pacifiers are only when I'm in my crib, but I'm learning even then i don't really NEED them.

I have a temper, I probably get that from mommy. But when I get mad...watch out. I slap, hit, pull glasses off, etc. But I mean if you just would listen to me it wouldn't be a problem!

When I first came home I slept at most 4 hours at a time (that was maybe once a day). Now I most of the time go to bed around 8-9pm and wake sometime after 7am. I rarely wake up now at night. I've learned to find the bottle of water in my crib when I get thirsty.

When I first born I had hair but it was just in a small tuft in the back of my head. I've grown a little more since then...and now mommy can even get it in pig tails :)

I needed to be held alot when I was first brought home. The world was BIG and scary, so I liked to cuddle. Now I like to roam free. But I have started giving hugs, especially when I'm tired. Like last night when my ear hurt me at 2 am mommy and I watched a Harry Potter movie for an hour while I just enjoyed the snuggling. (Yes I have my second ear infection just in time for my birthday :\ )

I have managed to grow at a nice steady rate. Just like when I was just turning 3 months and I had been in 3-6 month clothes for a month, I'm doing the same with 12 month things. Although they seem to be lasting a little longer. But I haven't had any crazy growth spurts that have caused me to skip a size. Mommy is hoping that in writing this it doesn't cause one since she just bought me a bunch of fall/winter things this week.

Life is pretty good, atleast that is what they tell me to say ;)

My 1st Birthday Party!

So while we were up visiting and going to weddings and such mommy thought it would be nice to celebrate my first birthday around all the family :) So daddy and her planned me one

See my cakes!

Here's my smash cake.

While people were coming in mommy had them sign my Birthday Bear.

Here's me all still clean hanging with my guests. Do you Peanutbutter?

Then here I am minutes after getting my hands on my cake :)

Here's daddy keeping a safe distance :)
And here you can see why...hehehe. I actually got MUCH worse but mommy doesn't currently have any pictures of that.

Here's me afterwards kind of cleaned up. My hair was still pretty sticky. Note to all the mommy's who have first birthday's coming..SOAP would be a good idea :) Not just a big box of wipes.

Mommy and ME! The hat on my head helps hide the sticky mess :) lol.

Yay for a great first birthday :) mommy and daddy would like to thank everyone that came! We'll work on getting Thank You cards out in the mail...just as soon as mommy has a minute to find the best picture 1 year of me to send with them!

McDonalds Playhouse!

So mommy calls daddy a big kid all the time...and this is one of those times I think she might be right! Look at what WE did together!

(pay no attention to the part on the sign that says I was WAY to young to be playing there)

Yup there is my an my daddy in the McDonald's playhouse :)

Storms, Hail, Tornadoes Oh MY!

So while we were north visiting the grandparents. It stormed, and not just any old storm, a BIG storm. It was so BIG...it knocked trees down! I mean that's pretty scary. I wonder what it would have done to me if I had been outside...eek! Luckily I was napping during it and it didn't even wake me :) Here are some of the pictures from it however:

This white stuff on the ground is piles of hail...doesn't it look like winter?

This is at my grandpa and grandma Dineen's. They had lots of trees down. This is a huge branch that fell off a maple.

This was the tree infront of the house responsible for us needing to light candles and not take baths.

And this tree had to be the BIGGEST I had seen down of them all. The WHOLE tree fell down!

See here mommy and I are standing infront of it's roots!

THis is also the tree you see daddy talking about in the new's clip he was in. Here's the link: http://www.wptz.com/news/24347350/detail.html

Oh ya and we also went north for my Uncle Zach's wedding!
I now officially have an Aunt Sarah too!

Meet Peanutbutter!

So when we went to Syracuse with Ryan and Ashley, mommy took me to get a new bunny :) A new bunny to take pictures with for year two (even though I will be growing a little slower). But I digress! So we went to Build-A-Bear and look at who we made! It's PEANUTBUTTER :) yay!

Here we are stuffing him and making sure it's a good feel.
Then I helped mommy pick out a heart.

Once we sat down to fill out her birth certificate I wouldn't let her go :)
I mean she's just so soft and sweet!

See me hugging her :) I held her for part of the rest of the mall walk. She got many many hugs that day and will continue to get them :)

Syracuse Zoo!

So Ryan and I went to the zoo. Oh yeah well mommy and Ashley were there too (I mean someone had to push our strollers ;) ). I had a good time with my pointing finger, there were SO many things to point at! :)

See like I said Ryan was with me :)

So apparently this was some cats paw that this guy stuck his hand in, does that even sound or look right to you? Ya I didn't think so...I wasn't touching it!

We're a couple of birds :) hehehe

Hanging with the penguins :)

Check out the baby elephant!

I don't understand it though. I kept telling him THAT WAY, but he wouldn't take me there!

Ryan got to ride the elephant too :)

Oh and he also got to be a wolf :) Isn't he cute!

It was a long day out, but I loved it! Mommy is talking about taking me to more places with animals, I can't wait!

July 18, 2010

Oh the things....

...I get myself into!

...and out of!

This is totally the coolest game ever! I climb in and have a comfy seat on top of all the nicely folded clothes which I then promptly unfold as I throw them on the floor :) It's like I said the best game ever, try it with your mom's neatly folded laundry today!

Driving

So mommy totally let me drive the other day! I mean check me out! I even got to drive a boy around :) This is my friend Nicholas. He's pretty cool, he's got some really cool toys that I love like this stage one. Actually I pushed it around the room at the first playdate we went to at his house and impressed mommy that I could walk so well :) He's not my boyfriend though, we are just friends ;)

Look I'm driving like mommy, one handed!

Johnny Only

So mommy took me to see this guy who sings kid songs. It is a free thing that happens each week. It was kind of fun :) I was a little tired though by the end, even though it was only 30 minutes. I hadn't had a nap yet, but I didn't get too cranky, just sleepy acting. Then after the show mommy and her friends had the bright idea of taking my friends and I's picture. HA!

Did I mention they also were doing this on the side of a small hill? ROLLING BABIES!

They did get us all to sit atleast for a moment together,
but us all looking at the camera was another story!

And then we were done :)
