We're Moving on Up!

We've had a super busy week. Monday we saw Uncle Zach and Aunt Sarah off. Then Tuesday we met two other local moms. One brought us toys that mommy bought and the other bought some of mommy's maternity clothes. Then Wednesday we went to daddy's work picnic where we learned he got promoted :) Then Thursday mommy needed to go shopping for things so we spent most of the day in stores. The today was mommy's postpartum appointment and we went and walked 1.5 miles on the rail trail. Mommy went crazy when she came home and rearranged the bedrooms. I know have my crib in mommy and daddy's room. Mommy thinks I'm getting too big for my bassinet. So I'm going to be a big girl now and sleep in the big ole crib. Right now I like it (or so it seems). I guess we will see how I sleep through the night.

Look at me looking at my new mobile. I really like the lights and the songs ;) I even talked to them I was so excited ;) :)

Here's a picture of me in my crib

Since mommy hasn't put pics up in awhile here are some fun ones :)

Baby Development 5 Weeks

Your 5-Week-Old Baby: Smiles, Sights, and Sounds

Was that gas — or baby's first real smile? Here's what your five-week-old infant is up to.

By five weeks of age, when the corners of your baby's mouth curl up, you can safely attribute it to an actual social smile (unless, of course, you happen to detect that telltale odor that means it's time for another diaper change). And who better to practice those first smiles on than Mom and Dad? (Yes, you!) So keep up those loving interactions with your baby (the little things that mean a lot — like talking, singing, and cooing to your baby) and all three of you will have plenty to smile about.

Something else your 5-week-old baby will smile about around now: music — whether it's you singing your way through a diaper change or the radio humming in the background. Your baby's acutely aware of other sounds too, like bells, barking dogs, vacuum cleaners, and whistles. He or she may kick with pleasure at these sounds, cry out, or quiet down to get a better listen (a lot depends on whether they're sounds that became familiar in utero). Just be sure to note which sounds calm down your baby best so you can recreate them when you need it most!

Your five-week-old is becoming increasingly alert, and may be awake up to 10 hours out of every 24 (but not all at once, and not necessarily in the daytime, unfortunately). Before long, that sleep-awake pattern will become more and more predictable (with baby taking two to three naps of two to three hours each a day). Which leaves a lot of waking hours for your bouncing baby to learn new skills (like bouncing), take in the world — and interact with Mom and Dad. And here's the best news of all: When it comes to stimulating your baby, no special toys or tapes or DVDs are necessary. Nobody does it better (or more lovingly) than you. Every time you cuddle, read, sing, hug, touch, and respond, you're giving your baby what he or she needs most to thrive.

O Sweet Child of Mine

Grumble....so NORMALLY i don't have trouble with her in the middle of the night. Tonight NOT the case :\ Tomorrow is a busy day :\ She had a really off day yesterday. She slept from 9ish - 12ish and then stayed awake the rest of the day...well for the most part..she grabbed a small cat nap on occasion. Then she slept for an hour or so around 8 then went down at her normal 9:30ish. Then she slept from 9:30 - 2am...it's now 3:30 and she's still wide awake :\ I'm WAY overdue for a pumping and I'm not sure if I will be sleeping again tonight :\ Grumble. Oh and we won't mention the three diapers she's gone through (figured she was wide awake might as well change her after she pooped right? Not like I was waking her up :\) and a complete outfit change! Tonight is the last night I bottle feed her. I'm just going to nurser her during my turn I think it takes the same amount of time...I should atleast make her work for it...maybe it will make her more tired.

Trip to Cooperstown

Miss Emilie turned a month yesterday. Yes I already posted that at 4 weeks, but I was having a tired mommy moment and realized it wasn't the end of the month yet. So yesterday she was a month :) So I took her pic with a different bunny for reference ;)

Zach and Sarah came to visit this past weekend. We went to the flea market in the morning on Sunday. Which I think everyone found something to buy :) Well I bought something for Emilie I don't think I got something for myself, but I did get nuts ;) I love hot roasted almonds!! Anyways. Then after the flea market we went to Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame. On the way we stopped and ate at a Mcdonalds. Jason and Zach decided to play in the playhouse...lol....what BIG kids!

Jason tried out for the first time on a trip our new baby carrier. (Mom look away). Emilie loves it!
As you can see she's fast asleep and stayed that way for the entire time we were at the museum.

Next we went to a batting cage sort of place after going in and out of a few shops. Sarah got the fastest pitch for women for the day.

Jason and Zach didn't do as well but the numbers they needed to hit were much higher.

Zach did some batting. I don't know how well he did since I was tending to the wee one.

Not a flattering picture of me, but it was the only one of me since I took most of the pics...but see I went too!

And my favorite part of the WHOLE trip :)

The itty bitty baby glove :) I wish I had bought it now :\ It was perfect size for her :) hehehehe so darn cute! It would have been even cuter when she could actually put her hand in it :) hehehe
